To embrace chaos
You might stare upward
Into a snowfall
And adjust your eyes
To the onrush of white specks
Dizzyingly zipping by
A barrage of delicacy
Of mad, frenetic fragility
As the flakes
Hitch rides
On currents
One breaking
This way
And then that
And now into your eye
Where it meets its warm end
Oh, to witness a snowfall
Over the horizon
As we all do
Is to know languid emergence
The slow, peaceful build
Of winter's construction crew
But to stare upward
Into a snowfall
If we dare
Is to behold an all-out attack
The furibund anabasis
Of winter's army
